Bill's Bio...
Bill Allen is a native of the St. Louis, MO area. He, his wife Beth and daughter Natalie now live in Eddyville, KY (90 min. outside of Nashville, TN). He is available as a concert artist for selected dates and as a songwriter for those looking for new material.
As a teen and young adult, Bill's roots in music were established by participating in a family group that traveled throughout the Midwest. While in college, he continued to sing in the family group as well as doing several solo concerts and other music events. Bill has continued on with the musical heritage of his family by serving on staff at churches and ministering as a solo artist in churches, concert halls, fairs and other venues. Bill is also the Minister of Music/Children at Kuttawa Baptist Church in Kuttawa, KY.
As a songwriter, it is important to Bill that lyrics are biblically correct. But more importantly, it is essential that each song be crafted in a way that honors God. One of Bill's most requested songs is "Go in His Name". The song was selected from over 260 entries as a finalist in the nationally syndicated "Solid Gospel" radio network's "Songwriter Search and Showcase" and still continues to touch people throughout the United States. Bill's singing and writing style is definitely Southern Gospel, but mixed in you'll hear a little soul, some jazz, a bit of country, praise and worship and other genres.
Bill Allen's musical influences are many. During his teenage years, he and his family shared the program stage with groups such as The Happy Goodmans and The Kingsmen. He also lived right across the street from "Music Row" in Nashville, TN for two years while working for Belmont University. One of Bill's most treasured relationships is with his favorite group and one of Gospel Music's most loved families, The Lesters. The St. Louis area group helped produce and provided vocals on his "New Day" and "Spirit Feast" recording projects. With all that said, the most important influence in Bill's life is Jesus Christ. His relationship with Jesus is at the heart of his ministry. He realizes that no amount of talent, ability or influence can replace the leadership of Christ. He seeks for lives to be changed by the transforming power of God in every event he is a part of.
Because Bill has served on staff in churches and as a traveling concert artist, he has a unique perspective when it comes to Gospel Music. He has also promoted concerts featuring groups such as The Perrys, The Kingsmen, The Whisnants, Southern Brothers, The Lesters and more. He seeks to learn from all his experiences and make the most of that knowledge as a songwriter and an artist.
